Application Requirements for International Students

Student App Form

Getting a Student Visa

We strongly recommend that a local accredited Education consultant be used to help get you a student visa. A list of consultants and agents is available from the New Zealand Education Service, located at most New Zealand Embassies and High Commissions around the world. However a visa can also be obtained without using an agent by contacting DAS (IA) directly.

What to do:

  1. Apply to DAS on an official DAS Enrolment form. Ensure all sections of the form are completed. Enclose with the application your most recent school reports or public examination results and a letter written by you on why you wish to study at DAS International Academy NZ. If you are an international student already studying in New Zealand, please send evidence of your English competency: e.g. exams passed, length of English study.
  2. On receipt of your enrolment, DAS International Academy NZ will review the application, if you are successful DAS will send an confirmation of enrolment, details on any additional information you request, and an invoice for your course fees.
  3. For International students new to New Zealand, the Immigration Services require a guarantee of accommodation. DAS (IA) will add a accommodation fee calculated on the number of weeks you are studying by the weekly amount (refer to Other Fees) to your fees invoice. The deposit will be a guarantee for accommodation and will be paid towards your accommodation when you arrive in New Zealand.
  4. We recommend that course fees be paid electronically directly into DAS (IA) account. Please contact us for our bank account details. Payment of fees will reserve your place on the course, and is required by immigration before you apply for your Student Visa.
  5. Only after all fees have been deposited in DAS (IA) account, will a formal "Confirmation Of Place On Course" as well as "Accommodation Confirmation" letter be issued to you or your agent.
  6. Take these to your nearest New Zealand Immigration Service office or Embassy and get an application form for a student visa. The Visa Officer will explain what other documents you need.
  7. The Visa office will issue a student visa after processing your application.
